She is almost synonymous with hard-work and intelligence. She is the source of inspiration for many students including some of the previous students of the fortnight. With a burning desire to excel and achieve the greatest thing human can, she has brought days and nights together to conquer the challenge that life has given her. As the top student of 2001 she has always proved to stand out with the outstanding quality of a diligent person on the verge of being a great doctor.
www.xianstudents.com family wishes her a very bright future and is thankful for accepting our request to share some of her experience.
1)How do you feel to be back here after a year?
It feels really great to be back to Xi’an after one year of rush hours! It’s kind of relief for a moment though still there’s a big wall to break through.
2) Did you miss Xian when you were in Nepal?
Yes, especially my sisters and some of my junior friends…and not to forget the Chinese food. The most important thing I missed was spending money on my own…Ha! Ha!
3). How was your internship in Nepal?
I gotta admit it was one of the most important parts of my medical student life – the moment I learnt a lot and fought through to make myself visible…..make my existence felt. It was hard but rewarding. In total, it was much more than just reading and following thick books; it was a real experience.
4) How was your first day at the Hospital?
I was at Kanti Children’s Hospital and it was a moment of mixed feelings – afraid that I would go un-noticed and at the same time enthusiastic and excited as I was going to start practicing medicine.
5) Did you feel inferior to other students?
To tell you the truth, I could never say I was from China without mumbling. It’s weird that they started underestimating us from the very beginning. But every time I got praised from my seniors – I felt proud that I was a product of XJTU and I never forgot to mention that which would give them the surprise of the day.
6) How did your seniors treat you?
They were very co-operative and ready to teach and help if they knew we were interested and even praised at times if we deserved.
Though everybody wasn’t always easy, they helped me somehow to come out as a person with better knowledge and gather more experience that gave me confidence and I’m thankful to them.
7)What do you like the most about Xi’an and XJTU?
The only thing I’d love about Xi’an is the kind of study environment we had in our batch. You wouldn’t believe we would line up outside the door to stay at the front bench. Thank God all of my friends had so much of spirit and energy to work hard and come out as better doctor that somewhat helped me.
8. What inspires you to work so hard?
Dedication to my profession because I can’t make a mistake and say,"Sorry! I made a mistake".
9. What do you intend to do here which is probably the final month of your stay in China?
After my final exam and graduation, I guess I’m going to travel more of China and enjoy life to the fullest.
10. Any suggestion to your juniors through this website?
All I have to say is – Don’t yell at the people saying “I am not a Khasa doctor.” Prove it. We all know action speaks more than words. And there’s a big world behind this small ‘Xi’an’ where you’ll have to go; prove your potential and make a space for yourself to stand firmly and to tell you the truth; it’s tough like hell but not IMPOSSIBLE. So, “WORK HARD”.
