Students of fortnight

Name:Saheb Kumar Jayswal

Batch:2002

This time xianstudents.com family have come across with such a student who is academically a huge success in Xi'an and a pride of 2002 batch. He is silent in nature, but can talk for hours when it comes to studies. He doesn't look like the strongest but is so because "Knowledge is power" which he has. Now, let's hear what he has in store for our questions....

1. How do you feel to be chosen as the student of the fortnight?

Really, I feel very happy to be chosen for sharing my feelings. Talking about the experience of my studies with my friends, I want to inspire them to struggle to be chosen as the best doctor not only for a fortnight but for ever

 2. What is life as a medical student?

If we’ve ever heard that being a medical student is to lose a long period of time and is monotonous as I felt here when I was in first year, it is not so. Actually student life of any faculty is very difficult if we take it seriously by heart and soul. I find this period very interesting because our complex course is arranged systematically and beautifully into small divisions.

In medicine we study about our own body structure, function and mechanism of being ill and its recovery after treatment. It’s very interesting if we can inter-relate with each other. Sometimes, I feel very happy when I understand all the mechanisms of an organ by relating these topics and I feel this is the happiest moment of my life. Also the relationship with the friends and their love make a journey of medical life easier

3. Who is your role model and why?

Being a doctor was my aim from very beginning. However, it would not be in my fortune if my parents were not with my decision. So, they are my role model.

4. You admire any of the students you are with?

I’ve met many praiseworthy students interested in different fields. But here, I personally want to admire Rekha didi of 2001 batch for her hard labor and her concept of dealing with problems. I was inspired too much when I saw her studying in Chinese classroom for long hours. Also by seeing her books and the way she used to study. I got satisfactory answers of my confusions from her. I just want to wish her to be a popular doctor from our university in future

5. What do you think should be the relation between a doctor and a patient?

Selecting a profession as a doctor is to live only for the patient and get rid of other things. Saving the patient’s life is happiness and not being able to do so is sorrow. So, a good relationship is necessary for them. This is only possible when both of them understand and believe in each other. In building this relationship doctors should be cordial, calm and be polite during history taking. Trusting the patients so that they feel we can do something for them and make them able to explain all complaints freely which help the doctors to make a good diagnosis is also necessary. The patients and their relatives should understand our efforts which encourage us for doing better in future. So, a relationship of “doctor and patient” should be maintained only as a doctor and patient nothing more or less

  6. What if someone calls you a khasa doctor?

It will not affect our skills. So we better believe in ourselves and not give them a chance to call us a bad doctor.

7. Do you think you were right to join this university in china to study rather than study somewhere like Nepal, India?

I don’t think that I’ve joined a bad university! Here, I have seen some students better than Nepal. The name and the place of university can’t make the students better if they are not eager and laborious. I know we have some problems of communication. But I believe this is not an excuse because some students have done exceptionally well, so why not I? If I don’t do well here, then this is my fault. I am grateful to this university that has given me a chance to study medicine

8. What do you like the most of this university and china?

The rules and regulations of this university and China, I like the most.  For the development of the institution and producing the quality and better students, the rules and regulation must be strict and followed by all the associated personnel

9. Are we lazy compared to the Chinese students?

Not all of us are lazy in comparison to them. They certainly work harder. They do regular study around the clock but most of us only during exam. I have some Chinese friends who tell me that they spend their whole day in classroom. They go to their room only for sleeping. I think it is very beneficial when all classmates sit in a classroom and study together. In this sense, I feel sad but not lazy.

10. Would you like to say few words to your friends through this website?

I am very thankful to my friends mainly the batch of 2003 who are involved in making this informative website. This website contains a lot of contents, so by visiting it we can learn a lot of things and we can also get entertainment. I want to ask all my friends to make every effort for the development of this website in future to give new information and entertaining stuff to this site.

11. Who do you think is the living legend of this university?

Teacher ‘Li’ of Anatomy department… Her frequent smiling and angry face always reminds me as ‘kabhi khusi kabhi gum'
